New Restaurant and Bar Brings Wine Country to Westfield UTC

The Winery from Orange County expands to San Diego

The Pointe at Westfield UTC, a new dining area where True Food Kitchen, Sweetfin Poke and Napizza are already up and running, will gain The Winery Restaurant and Wine Bar this Monday. A popular eatery in the Orange County area, The Winery has existing location in Newport Beach and Tustin. Its 7,000-square-foot space at UTC includes a spacious dining room, bar and 1,300-square-foot wind-protected and heated patio. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant’s menu of California cuisine, from executive chef Yvon Goetz and executive chef Daniel Garcia, follows an upscale steakhouse format, with a la carte steaks, mix-and-match sides, and deluxe seafood options as well as wild game specials. The UTC outpost has an ocean bar, where fresh seafood will be stacked onto seafood towers, and chef’s tables that look into the glassed-in kitchen, where diners can order tasting menus. Two climate-controlled wine cellars, incorporated into the restaurant’s design, hold over 600 new and old world selections as well as private wine lockers.

Co-founder JC Clow is also launching a wine bar adjacent to the restaurant. Intended to be a respite for shoppers and area workers, the 75-seat space features a heated wrap-around patio and lounge that will serve a full-service menu of tapas-style small plates, from sashimi to flatbread and sliders, and a beverages ranging from wine flights to wine and beer on tap.
